A Loss is a loss only if you give up
This semester I applied to 3 different
organizations to start having more of a role on campus. I applied to be student
senator with Inspire, I applied to Campus Diplomats, and Innovation Academy Ambassadors.
I got interviews for senate and Diplomats, but didn’t get an Interview with
ambassadors, the one I thought for sure I could get.
Anyway, I ended up failing to get any of
those positions and had negative thoughts about my ability to earn positions
and my self-worth. However, I know who I am, and I know my value, so I didn’t
let it hold me down and I continued to look for opportunities to be involved.
Eventually I ended up being appointed to the
E-board for UEPA (Union de Estudiantes Puertoriquenos Activos) as a new Liaison
and I’m really looking forward to continuing to grow and strive for greatness.
I’m more open to applying for any position knowing that I’m capable.
Those were awesome stories about failures you faced this semester. Applying for organizations can be tough and it is great that you continue to want to apply to organizations and executive positions. I think this is something everyone can learn from because people don't get everything they always want on the first try. Good job and good luck with the rest of your applications
