Wonderboy, what is the secret of your power? Tenacity
Never Give up
1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the
behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of
this course?
My use of
self-motivation to work on assignments as well as chipping away at the work
load little by little week by week has helped my success in the course.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a
moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you
through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past
two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
Last year after faltering in a few courses I didn’t
know if this was meant for me. I considered transferring, dropping, or changing
my career path. In that process I dug deep to motivate myself to really give it
another shot and do what makes me happy. In the end I changed my major and
continue my path as a gator.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer
next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity
and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset' ?
A) Try to contact your group before the semester gets
into gear to work together and ahead
B) Get assignments done earlier in the week
C) Do peer reviews right after the assignment
I think that getting the assignments done earlier in the week is one of the best things to do for this class. Some of the assignments can take a long time so not looking at them ahead of time can get you really caught up if you wait till earlier in the week. Relating to your peer reviews response, I think it is important to also look at what people write about your ideas so that you can get another point of view.
ReplyDeleteI like that you got deep and mentioned how you struggled but have prospered by switching majors. Also, I think it is smart about reaching out to group members to try to get ahead on work and peer reviews because this can help you get ahead in the class
