If science is so good how come there isn't a science 2?

Who: Are there certain people or certain businesses that, although they share a lot in common with the others in your opportunity, nevertheless fall outside the boundary? Why?
My solution is an innovation to the greeting card industry. My typical customer will be grocery stores and convenience stores in high volume areas who wish to improve their customer experience. Obviously, this kind of machinery and system will not be efficient or effective in low volume areas such as rural town stores.
What: At what point does the need you identified differ from another need? (Is thirst the same as hunger? Or is the desire to appear fashionable the same as the desire to be loved by others?)
The problem I am trying to solve is one of convenience in the greeting card shopping process. Spending time trying to pick out the perfect card for loved ones takes time and can become tedious, I hope to solve that problem with my solution. Efficiency is not the main need.
Why: Is the underlying cause of the outsiders' need different than people who are inside the boundary?
Size is the underlying cause of the difference in need for my product as the smaller the store the smaller the returns for this investment.
Inside
Outside
WHO: High volume convenience stores and grocery stores
WHO isn’t: small volume convenience stores and grocery stores
WHAT: Improving the convenience of the shopping process
WHAT it isn’t: Improving the efficiency
WHY: More costumers need more specific and personalized cards
WHY not: smaller stores have less volume and less costumers therefore less revenue

  1. I like how this makes you really consider your target market. I think its important to realize that the current people buying greeting cards are used to the current way of buying and may face a learning curve in learning your new technology. There needs to be a very simple step by step process that is easy for people to follow on the machine. I agree that lots of volume of people is important for yeilding more profit. I like where you are going with this opportunity
